The New Church Building
We are currently in the process of leasing and renovating this building in Port Tenant for our new church building. Right now we are meeting in a community centre hall on Sunday evenings. In moving to this building we will begin having Sunday morning services as soon as the sactuary is set up. There are a couple of guys coming from the churches that support us to help with the construction that needs to be done. We will be taking you all through this process so keep checking back with us to see pictures of how things are going.
This is the vew of the entrance doors. To the left of the doors is a window which connects to the kitchen area. Much of our time was spent preping for paint which included much paint scraping and masking off stuff.
This is what the building looked like on the first day of work. As you can see the cealing was pink with sea foam green walls and blue trim. The dark parts on the back wall are freshly plastered spots. We were joined by two men from the states that came to help use with fixing up this building. One was Gregg's brother Gary and another man named Darwin who was from Calvary Chapel Reno.
Here you can see that we painted over the pink ceiling with a less intrusive color. Also you can see Darwin and Gary begining to frame out the the stage.
Behind the stage we put a feature wall in a dark brown color. There is a funny story about this color though. Knowing that we would begin painting the building soon we were all looking for colors to use. One day Gregg and Cathy were in Starbucks visiting Heather and they thought the color of the wall in the Starbucks were a nice color. So they asked the manager if he knew what color they used for the walls. He said yeah he could find out and came back to them with two gallon pails of paint and gave it to them. So we used it. Here you can see that the stage is completed also.
Here we got the carpet guys doin their thing. And a picture of the stage all carpeted up.
Here is the sanctuary in it somewhat completed state with the chairs all set up. And a picture of all of us here at Calvary Chapel Swansea with our work team Darwin and Gary. Thank you for all of your prayers. Thank you Darwin and Gary for your help!
Here you can see the sanctuary set up with our sound equipment and a screen for our projector. The other pic is the outside of the building with the walls painted and trim work half done. The plan is to put a Calvary Chapel Swansea sign on the front of the building infront of the the blue windows.
